2013 UAAACT Conference

The 2013 UAAACT Conference will be at the Provo Marriott Hotel on February 27 and 28. Breakfast and registration will run from 7:45 to 8:30 AM.  The general conference session with Don Johnston as the keynote speaker will begin at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, February 27th.  On Thursday, February 28th, the workshops will begin at 8:30 AM and conclude at noon. We will finish the conference with lunch and a vendor prize drawing from noon to 1:00 PM on February 28th.

UAAACT members who follow in-state travel policies will be reimbursed for approved travel including mileage, meals and hotel.  Please car pool when possible. The Provo Marriott hotel has offered a special rate for sleeping rooms for those attending the UAAACT Conference. Conference rates are $81 for a room with two beds and two occupants. The triple rate is $91.  UAAACT members who share a room with another UAAACT member will have their full hotel bill reimbursed.  UAAACT members who choose to have their own room will be reimbursed for half of their hotel bill.  Reservations should be made by individual UAAACT members directly with Marriott reservations at 1-800-228-9290 or 801-370-3538.  Hotel room reservations must be made by 5:00 PM on February 5, 2013. After that date, you may not be able to get a hotel room and even if you do, the room prices go to $109 night and the state will only reimburse rooms at the $81 rate. As noted above, UAAACT members who attend the late night UAAACT dinner will be eligible for a sleeping room at the Provo Marriott Hotel on the night of the February 26th.  If you live and work over 50 miles from the Provo Marriott Hotel, you may also be eligible for a hotel stay on Wednesday, February 27th.  If you have a question about your eligibility to be reimbursed for your hotel room on February 27th, please contact Lynn Marcoux at 801-887-9380 and she can determine if you are eligible for reimbursement.

UAAACT Team Members will have priority conference registration through Dec. 1, 2012. After that, it will be first come, first serve.

UAAACT Preconference

The UAAACT Pre-Conference for UAAACT members and Special Education Directors will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 1-4:00 PM at the Provo Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 101 West 100 North, Provo, UT 84601.  Penny Reed, former director of the Wisconsin Technology Initiative (WATI), will be the presenter.  She will discuss Education Tech Points: Profile of AT Services in Schools.  The UAAACT dinner and meeting will be held that evening from 6-8:00 PM. All UAAACT members who attend the late night UAAACT dinner will be eligible for a sleeping room at the Provo Marriott Hotel on the night of the February 26th.
